Qui-Gon and the Force

Jedi Apprentice Book #3

@_@ It's my birthdaaaay.
La la la.
>_> It's my birthdaaaaay. ::thinkitreallyhard::
La la la
:-( It's my birthday.
Here's a rock!
And you suck.

"Obi-wan trailed after Qui-Gon, fighting off a feeling of hopelessness. Would he ever please his new Master? Just when he felt Qui-Gon had given him the strong base of his trust, he found himself hanging free. Now he realized that the only thing Qui-Gon had ever truly given him was a rock."

In Qui-Gon's defense, I really think the rock was like... profoundly significant to him. But not to a 13 year old. On his birthday.

ROFL yes, no, it's true.

I don't want the mysteries of the universe! I want something cool! And a hug. I'd REALLY like a hug. You know, or a NOD, in MY DIRECTION.
.....what? Come again?
You would have made a good farmer.

Qui-gon's Homer-esque beard makes my day. This perfectly sums up the Jedi Apprentice stuff (you should totally also do it with brat!Padawan Anakin).

Oh, the rock! How many JA stories on The Force.Net did I read that referenced that river stone? And how oddly pointy it will soon become!

Man, I miss Lwynyna Kenobi...which is a reference you'll only get if you were around then...

Qui-Gon, so oblivious to the teenage angst.

*blinkblink* I'm getting a really weird idea from this...

Obi-Wan is standing around, waiting for his Master to come by.
Qui-Gon walks up, wearing a full hippie ensemble. He slaps Obi-Wan's sholder, hard enough that the padawan staggers, and pushes two fingers in Obi-Wan's face.
"Rock on!"
Qui-Gon grooves* away from Obi-Wan, leaving the poor, confused padawan to wonder what happened to his Master.

*allow me to be one of the few people to use 'grooves' as a verb.

That sounds about right. Which in turn reminds me of the icon by duncatra:
